केहि साल पहिले शायद अलि ठीकै खालको गजल लेखेको थिएं यहि साझामा भ्यालेन्टाईन डे पारेर -

आज पनि एउटा लेखें - मन परे उनलाई पनि सुनाई दिनु होला !  नबुझे म सित सोध्नु होला !

 

एकले अर्का भेट्नु नै सबै पुरस्कारहरु !

मानौं, बांकी छैन अब कुनै पुकारहरु !

 

हराई अकंमालमा सौध्दै थियौं आंखाले

हाम्रो बाहेक अरु पनि छन् र संसारहरु ?

 

मन मस्तिष्कका हरेक कुना ओगटेका छौ,

कंहाबाट आवोस् अरु कुनै ब्यभिचारहरु !

 

ऋण भए चुक्ता गर्थें , पैंचो फिर्ता गरि दिन्थें

तिर्नै सकिन तिमीले गरेका आभारहरु !

ओत खोजेर हिड्दा तिम्रो घर, मन्दिर जस्तो लाग्यो !
तिमीले खेल्दै कोरेका ती रेखा, तक्दीर जस्तो लाग्यो !

नितान्त एक्लो महसुस भएन कुनै एकान्तमा
तिम्रो उपस्थिती मेरो मनमा, तस्बीर जस्तो लाग्यो !

तरल सतह माथी हिडि रहेका पाईलाहरु
बिश्वाशको आधारले होला, सुस्थीर जस्तो लाग्यो !

बिर्सेर मैले जब एकै क्षण भुलें तिमीलाई
जमीन प्रक्रिति र समय नै, अस्थीर जस्तो लाग्यो !

उड्न खुल्ला आकाश नै उपहार दिएका हौ
बाधिन आउं आउं लाग्ने माया, जन्जीर जस्तो लाग्यो !

ठिकै हो कुरा त!

सिधा रुपान्तर भन्दा पनि भाव रुपान्तर यस्तो होला कि-

"म उनि तर्फ जति उत्सुकता देखाउँछु  त्यति नै उनि उपेक्षा गर्छिन (वास्ता गर्दिनन्, रिसाएकि छिन?)

हे भगवान!!! यो के भइरहेको हो???"

नेपे दाईलाई थाहा हुन सक्छ शाब्दिक अर्थ!

(When nothing exists here without you !

Then what is all this tumult about, O Lord ?)

 

जान तुम पर निसार करता हुँ

मैँ नहीँ जानता दुआ क्या है

 

(I offer my life to you;

I know not what is the prayer of blessing.)

 

 

And one of my all time favorite couplets, from the same ghazal:

 

मै भी मुँह में जबाँ रखता हुँ

काश पुछो कि मुद्दआ क्या है

 

(I too, keep a tongue in my mouth;

I wish you would ask me what my desires are.)

मालती होस् या मेरिना
मलाई त उस्तै लाग्छ

मालती पनि केटी, मेरिना पनि केटी
एउटी नेपाली अर्की कुइरिनी

मालतिले बिहे गर्न धम्याउकी थि
मेरिनले बिहे भन्दा, बोक्सी जत्रा आँखा पार्छे।

छाला  फरक होला
एउटिले भात खाली
अर्किले बर्गर

तर केटी भन्या जहाँ पनि उस्तै
मेरिना पनि उस्तै
मालती पनि त्यस्तै

बोल्ने भाषा फरक होला
लाउने कपडा फरक होला

एउटिले लोपेज सुन्छे
अर्किले अरुणा लामा
मालतिले फरिया लाउछे
मेरिनाले २ इन्चको जामा

मालती होस् या मेरिना
केटी भन्या उस्तै उस्तै

शिल्प, शैली र प्रस्तुतीको कुरा एकछिनलाई छाडेर मलाई झिल्केको कविताको भावउपर जीववैज्ञानिक टिप्पणी गर्न मन लाओ ।

 

वास्तवमा झिल्केको कवितामा एक प्राकृतिक पुरुषको प्राकृतिक दृष्टि बोलिरहेको छ ।

 

प्रकृतिले नै स्त्रीजातीलाई पुरुषप्रति आकर्षित हुन पुरुषको गुणको आधारमा र पुरुषजातीलाई स्त्रीप्रति आकर्षित हुन स्त्रीको उपलब्धता भए पुग्ने अन्त:प्रेरणा (instinct) दिएको छ ।

 

त्यसको क्रमविकासवादी व्याख्या (evolutionary explanation) छ ।

 

प्राकृतिक अवस्थामा सबै जीव आफ्नो वंशाणु धेरै भन्दा धेरै फैलाउन चाहन्छन् र जुन दाउले आफ्नो वंशाणु अधिकतम फैलन्छ त्यही दाउ नै अन्त:प्रेरणाको रुपमा प्रकृतिले घुसाईदिएको हुन्छ ।

 

प्रजनन पद्धतिको कारणले स्त्री र पुरुषको वंशाणु फैलाउ दाउ अलग अलग हुन्छ ।

 

पुरुषको लागि जति बढी पार्टनर त्यति फाईदा (धेरै पार्टनर धेरै सन्तान)

स्त्रीको लागि एक पार्टनर र धेरै पार्टनरमा केही फरक छैन (जति पार्टनर भएपनि नौ महिनामा एक सन्तान हुने त हो)

 

त्यसैले स्त्रीहरुले आफ्नो ध्यान राम्रो गुण भएको पुरुष हेर्नमा लगाउछन् । उनीहरुको लागि राम बहादुर र श्याम बहादुर एउटै होईनन् ।

 

तर पुरुषहरुले भने आफ्नो ध्यान जो भेटिन्छ त्यसैमा लगाउछन् । उनीहरुको लागि मालती र मेलिना उत्तिकै फाईदाजनक हुन् ।

 

तर मैले यो प्राकृतिक अवस्थाको वा हाम्रो अन्त:प्रेरणाको कुरा गर्‍या है । एकल-विवाह संस्थाकृत गरिएको सभ्यतामा हुर्केको हामीमा त्यही अनुसारको संस्कार विकास हुने कुरा त छदैछ ।

 

लु जे भएपनि झिल्केले सभ्यताले आफ्नो प्राकृतिकता गुमाइसकेका पुरुषहरुको नभएर अझै प्राकृतिक अन्त:प्रेरणा जस्ताको तस्तै राख्न सकेका पुरुषहरुको मनस्थिति झल्काउने कविता लेखेको रहेछ ।

 

झिल्केलाई कस्ले भनेको रे, Women need a reason to have sex. Men just need a place ?

Thanks a lot for important piece of information. I did not know the fact. So it means even when men are trying to have fun (not desiring children) are they internally forced by that factor (   आफ्नो वंशाणु धेरै भन्दा धेरै फैलाउन)?


One point , that is easily understood here was,  women cant have more than a child in 9 months (ya sometimes twins) but men could have as many as they want....I mean at least 20 or even more than


that.......


Im curios to to read/know more about this issue, Nepe bro, can u please impart us something mroe on this regard or if u know some links or books?

Amazing bro,

 

Now you are happy to know why of your own flirty and lecherous nature and want to keep justifying it with some theories, huh ?

 

Brother, today’s human is not just a product of natural evolution but also of some 8,000 years of civilization and culture.

 

So I guess you will also have to account for the cultural part too.

 

That said, a new and hot discipline called “evolutionary psychology” is emerging lately trying to explain why we think what we think.

 

I must warn that the discipline is at infancy and a lot of popular discourse based on them should be taken with a lot of salt.

 

The diversity of behavior among species, importantly- among the close species, in many instances are pretty high and confusing rather than conclusive for the kind of conclusion we like to draw.

 

So just be careful to make claims and justifications based solely on them, hai ?

 

You might want to read the following books as a starter (I myself haven’t ).

 

1. The Mating Mind: How Sexual Choice Shaped the Evolution of Human Nature (2001)

Geoffrey Miller

 

Review:

Evolutionary psychology has been called the "new black" of science fashion, though at its most controversial, it more resembles the emperor's new clothes. Geoffrey Miller is one of the Young Turks trying to give the phenomenon a better spin. In The Mating Mind, he takes Darwin's "other" evolutionary theory--of sexual rather than natural selection--and uses it to build a theory about how the human mind has developed the sophistication of a peacock's tail to encourage sexual choice and the refining of art, morality, music, and literature.

Where many evolutionary psychologists see the mind as a Swiss army knife, and cognitive science sees it as a computer, Miller compares it to an entertainment system, evolved to stimulate other brains. Taking up the baton from studies such as Richard Dawkins' The Selfish Gene, it's a dizzyingly ambitious project, which would be impossibly vague without the ingenuity and irreverence that Miller brings to bear on it. Steeped in popular culture, the book mixes theories of runaway selection, fitness indicators, and sensory bias with explanations of why men tip more than women and how female choice shaped (quite literally) the penis. While occasionally his magpie instinct may loot fool's gold, overall it provides an accessible and attractive insight into modern Darwinism and the survival of the sexiest

 

2. The Evolution of Desire: Strategies of Human Mating (1994)

David M. Buss

 

Review:

Evolutionary psychology--or, in the vernacular, "instinct"--rules the dating and mating game, and this scientist's discoveries are bound to clash with theories of patriarchy that purport to account for male dominance of wealth. Buss' synthesis of many studies conforms with popular wisdom: Women want an older man with actual or potential means; men want an attractive, younger woman; and men have a much greater proclivity for promiscuity than do women. Why? The reasons reside in vestigial "cues" that favored reproduction in the pre-agricultural epoch of human development. Then, when a poor decision in mate selection imposed devastating material costs on the female, a dialectic of attraction strategies developed so that a desirable mate could be gained, held, and defended against interlopers. The ancestral origin, Buss explains, is apparent in courting techniques (such as his researchers recorded in singles bars) or in the emotion of jealousy, the actuator in alerting and defeating rivals. Libraries may be overrun by anecdotal accounts of sex, even the good ones like Sex: An Oral History by Harry Maurer . झिल्केलाई खराप विद्या दिरा बेलाँ तिमी किन यहाँ ? बिग्रेला है ?

झिल्के,

 

एउटा थप बहस र जानकारी । स्त्रीको सट्टा यदि पुरुषले बच्चा जन्माउने भए स्थिति कस्तो हुन्थ्यो होला ? उनीहरुको समागम-स्वभाव (mating nature) उल्टो हुन्थ्यो होला ?

 

ठ्याक्कै यही प्रश्न त होईन तर केही निकट प्रश्नहरुको जवाफ भालेले बच्चा जन्माउने प्रजाती, समुन्द्री घोडा, को अध्ययनबाट निक्लेको छ ।

 

बहुविवाह चल्ने उपजातीका समुन्द्री घोडामा स्त्रीजातीहरु पुरुष भन्दा बढी नै छाडा र बढी पार्टनर खोज्ने हुँदा रहेछन् ।

गजल र पेन्टिन्ग  मेरा लागि उस्तै हुन् ।मलाई दुबै रच्न आउँदैन् । तर दुबैले मेरो मन छुन्छन् । प्राविधिक पक्ष केहि थाहा नभएपनि।

शिरिष दाई अस्ति देखि हजुरलाई एउटा टुक्रा सुनाउन खोजेको थिए ।

"कत्ति साँच्नु माया,
रक्शि पनि उच्च कोटि को!!"

लौन यो लाईनलाई केहि गरौ न दाई!!

वाक्क देखेर धेरैका धेरै अबतारहरु

ढुक्क म नबदल्दा तिम्रा ब्यबहारहरु !

 

Has a good rhythm. Work more to make it more symmetrical.!

 

अनि नि, यो syllables को गणना गर्दा लिखित स्वरुप भन्दा उच्चारित स्वरुप र अझ कहिलेकाही त (खास गरेर सुस्वादु विकल्प नहुँदा) तानतुन गर्दा पनि हुन्छ जस्तो लाग्छ । जस्तो तिम्रा लाई तिमरा गरेर गणना गर्ने । नारायण गोपालले पनि कति ठाउँमा विश्वास लाई बिसुवास गरेर गाएका छन्, मात्रा पुर्‍याउन । कि कसो ?
