Prakriti has an uphill battle, and not so much because of other competitors. Yes, Aiswarya and Anwesha are fine singers. But in my mind, that doesn't settle the case, because as long as public's vote is supposed to be the decider, this is a popularity contest, and not so much about who the judges think has the best voice.
Besides having a fine voice, Prakriti is the most colorful, flamboyant and entertaining of them all, bar none so she very much has a good claim on the title. Others aren't even close, if you look at overall performance and the level of entermainment she provides.
The way she pulled others on stage to perform on Feb 15th, no other contestant could have dared. While others struggle hard to just not mess up the lyrics, she had the guts and the presence of mind to pull that lady (Katrina?) on stage and dance with her. And not miss a beat. And her request to the Saif guy to play guitar. For me, its obvious she has already arrived at the grand stage.
She is every bit a fabulous performer, on stage or off the stage in front of a microphone. She has the character, the temperament and that magical mix that explodes on stage, every time.
So, why do I think it's a long shot for her? Because of the judges. They have pretty much made up their mind. It's clear that at least 2 of the judges have all but given the title to Aishwarya and Anwesha. Kunal was at one point charmed by Prakriti---too much so-- but now it seems he got a spanking from somebody, so now he seems to be overcompensating by critisizing Prakriti more than other judges do.
And as you can see judges can have a huge impact. They outright scolded the public--full with anger--for not voting for some of the other girls and the next thing you know Prakriti goes form never-been-in-scary-land to the scary land and then can't even manage to get out of the bottom 3 and gets eliminated right away!
Anyway, as long as the public keeps voting for Prakriti, she is safe, so...why are you still reading this. Vote! ;)
