Hey Dude, I heard there are tons of Nepali in Rochester, NY. In fact, I live close to where you live and I just moved here too.

BTW, where did you move from?

saku, keep on posting.. I am pretty sure you will find some connections. I had the same issue when I first moved here. Upstate NY is pretty depressing in this winter. I posted in sajha to find anyone in surrounding area. A gentle man got me connected to some nice families who live in my area.

hi saku,

actually i am not from rochester but from syracuse, NY ( an hour and half away from rochester) ...but i know for pretty sure there are quite a few Nepali families there ...actually they had come to dashain-tihar party here ...but sadly i dont have their contact address

the good news is i came to know that Nepalese in rochester are organizing New year's party in second week of April, i havent got the official invitation yet, but when i do, i will make sure to send it to you as well ...till then hang on there yaar

and by the way metallica, Rochester is not near jackson heights...its in Upstate New York (about 4 and half hours away to north-west from New york city)

Actually there is a pretty big community there.  If you send me an email through Sajha, I may be able to keep you in touch with some people.  Mention your age group, so I can connect you with people from the same age group (joking).  Otherwise, just wait until Baisakh 1, as born_to_rule suggested. :)

Sincerely,
M.P.
