okay i just read that thread.

two things:
1) looks like the originator of that thread, from his conscious mind, did not intend to deride or ridicule newars. he did it just for fun as we have listened to/read several jokes of similar nature - blonde, sardars ....you know you are a nepali when....so on and so forth. however, i don't deny that it's good to have fun but not at the expense of sensitizing private feelings of others. a good humor is such which can make people who are made fun of can laugh more than others. the thread originator could have done better instead of coming up with a joke which was of a mediocre taste, if not poor but still it's a joke and the idea/intention is to laugh or laugh at the joke (if it's not up to the par) and move on.

2) to all who are offended: what is life without humor? you either have fun or you make fun of others (including yourself) to have fun. and trust me, if you look at it closely, all jokes/humor in some sense do make fun of others and that's how you have fun -- making fun of situations or the people. understand humor. have some sense of it. just take things easily and try to laugh off--makes life hell lot easier. HAHAHAHA--->that's how it is done :P. one more : HAHAHAHA
