I am sure many of us still have ties to nepal- friends, family and whatnot. I encourage everyone to ask their parents, friends, relatives and everyone in nepal to go vote at this constituent assembly elections. It is to us to decide who we want to govern us. give them a call and tell'em to vote. I know some of us passionate people here talk about barack and hillary and all them, lets talk about these folks running from several parties! lets talk about their agendas, and lets- as responsible citizens-vote- and encourage to vote!

It's their choice whether to or not to vote, so I would neither encourage or discourage..!

Infact, I wouldn't want my loved ones to vote, taking trouble for the whole day, waisting their time for no outcomes, so as to make someone "ghusias". As far as I can remember they have left voting, from previous election esp my mum.

Yea, its not bad to talk about the politics though, no matter.. wherever it is.

My parents are really excited to vote. My mother - being a very patriotic person is eager to give a chance to a new candidate i believe....

So YES, please encourage everyone to vote for the best person they think will bring the change to our society. It is important to take part in this election so that we can dream of a democratic country for the future.

I'd definitely vote, if I were in Nepal. Prob'ly I'd look for a diff'nt face this time. So, we SHOULD encourage ppl to vote and more importantly encourage 'em to vote for the RIGHT person. It's a waste if we just talk politics and not practice when given the chance. We can make the difference... Amen!

To be Honest, I don't see any good candidate to vote. To me, all the candidates, no matterfrom whatever parties they have stood up, look like the same corrupt politicians who has had a chance to do something for the country but failed to do so. However, Nepali Congress and the Rastriyata P Party seem to be favorable to me over other parties because we don't want the Communist UML to come to power in Nepal and establish a Communist image of Nepal in the international community; and we certainly don;t want the terrorist Maoists to come either. So, whoever is going to vote, all the best to them; be safe and be cautious!

Happyface... Does that mean we have no hope what so ever? Are we failed? We can never hope for better? We can never change? We can never choose a new face, new leader? It's sad...

Kali.Keti,I never said that we have failed or we can;t choose a new face. Ofcourse, we can come overthe mess we are having right now in Nepal and choose a new face. But the problem is there'reno new faces standing up for the election. I would not vote for the same bunch of crappypoliticians who have proved that they would benefit noone but themselves if they win the election. What we need is a new generation of people coming up--educated people. No ideawhen that will happen. We should and will have hope that a new and a better and a prosper and a stable Nepal willsoon be formed.

I really don't get it, specially when we talk about nepali politics. Whenever we get chance to vote we are just too reluctant to go to vote and simply pass it saying 'all candidates are (or will be) corrupted'.

Let us talk about the constituency in Kathmandu, where Prachanda is a Candidate. There are almost more than a dozen of candidates. I think we can go there and vote for another candidate, if we don't like Prachanda , Congress or UML Candidates.  That candidate may not win, but alteast our voice will be heard. Atleast people will know the trend. (or may win, if everyone voted for that candidate.) Sitting at home will surely not change anything.

Let's say in the constituency where Sujata Koirala and Upendra Yadav are participating. If we feel Sujata is corrupted and Upendra is a racial leader, we can go and vote for another guy. We should send the message by voting another Candidate, NOT by not voting to anyone.

We know security threat is the main concern to all voters at this time. Even I would not want people go for voting if they see there is a life threatening issue but if it is just for the sake of saying "I don't care of corrupted politics", I think we should get over it. It is us who voted for those corrupted leaders, it's our turn now to vote against them.

It's better to get rid of corrupt politician through ballot rather than starting another Andolan after electing them. People have gotten this chance after long long time, we should use it. And use it the right way.

When will the time for stable nepal come if we don't act today? Let's start the trend...

OMG.. Can't believe I wrote these many lines in political subject. Pardon me!

Please encourage your family and parents not to vote because :

1. We have already seen bomb explosion in kathmandu and we know bad the security is.

2. Secondly, even if you vote who will win. Same GPK, Makune, Prachande. Its not worth bothering about.

Enjoy your four days of holiday and New year.
