25/03/2008 — Avash Karmacharya
Sher Bahadur Deuba, Girija Prasad Koirala and Pradip Giri are the
leaders representing Nepali Congress while Madhav Kumar Nepal is from
UML and Prachanda a.k.a. Pushpa Kamal Dahal is one of the vying
contenders from CPN (Maoist) for the upcoming Constituent Assembly
Polls taking place on April 10.
Does it make any new news to you? No! Then how about getting to know
about singer
Nalina Chitrakar being the representative of the
Madhesi
People's Rights Forum? Surprised?
But it's true. The chubby and cute singer of popular hits like
Nepalikai Naam Diye Pugcha, Mehendi Lagau Malai and Pani Pani Bhayo
Merai Mann Pani is a chosen candidate of the Forum in the CA elections.
Along with Nalina, there are two other people from the showbiz in the CA polls.
Shree Krishna Luitel, more popularly known for his boke dari (goatee),
has come up as an independent candidate. Ironically,
boka (billy goat)
happens to be Luitel's party logo. The popular singer of hits like E
Bau Kindeuna Bhatbhate and Lamichhane Babu, Shree Krishna is now busy
campaigning for his party in Morang district.
Likewise, singer
Nanda Krishna Joshi, popular for his unique genre in
singing - Jhyamma Jhyamma being one example - is the candidate under
proportional representation (PR) system from Nepali Congress.
