Smell of fresh ground coffee was a perfect beginning of my day for more than two years in Cambridge, MA. It marked a new day, a new beginning and a new long shift. There were some regulars who came for their first mug of caffeine, and I was happy to let them stand around while the smell still filled the hall, and filled their senses with the same presumed freshness.

My background in coffee before this was limited to Nescafe instant coffee, especially steam brewed by bus stands in early mornings or late nights in a few pit-stop towns along the Mahendra Rajmarga.

It must have been a divine plan that one day I should dislike the bitterness of coffee, and settle for a cup of warm water with some lemon and ginger. Some prefer ginger lemon tea after a long day. I take mine to cure the hangover first thing in the morning. I am still being told it actually works.
