Look, how he is dressed up. (He is the same person, who officially proposed Nepal to convert into a republic state). There was no dress code in the first seating of CA to let everybody free to chose their dress by themselve. In that historic event, the outfit they chose to put on their body was reflecting where they belong to. I was surprised to see this home minister put the Salawar Kameej instead of daura suruwal. He does not want to fall in the category of Girija and Ramchandra, that is the clear message.

Now do not tell me, all the political changes we are witnessing is NOT sponsored by Indian game plan.

If he was wearing suit and tie, he would have been labelled west_ko agent. If daura suruwal, he would have been a rajabadi, yadda yadda ...

C'mon folks, will you ever have the ability to see beyond these little things...?

Chanaa Tarkari

On a standard parliamentary dress code: Other than suits and saris, might be hard to implement. Especially when a large part of the conversation is going to be about ethnic aspirations and federalism. It could prove to be too much of a distraction.

On Sitaula's sense of  fashion: By no means can I say he has good taste, but to argue his choice of attire
has anything to do with his political convictions, in this case, is a bit of a stretch.

On the kurta:  A lot of people in the Terai including Jhapa, where Sitaula is from, wear  a kurta. This is true of both Madesi and Pahadi men in the plains where hot and humid weather make it difficult to wear the daura surwal which is better suited for the cooler climates of Kathmandu and the hills.

On Situala the politician: After Gyanendra's departure, I am now eagerly looking forward to Sitaula's.

Have a good one.

:)

If Nepal wants to be a fully democratic country PEOPLE CAN WEAR WHAT THEY WANT. IF I WANT TO WEAR CAPE TO PARLIAMENT IT IS NOBODYS BUSINESS.

STOP DWELLING ON PETTY THINGS AND FOCUS ON THINGS THAT MATTER TO BETTERMENT OF NEPAL.

Captain,

"After Gyanendra's departure, I am now eagerly looking forward to Sitaula's"

Yes, it is now time for him to go. Probably, we will find him departing soon.

BC

"STOP DWELLING ON PETTY THINGS "

In a crucial moment, petty things do indicate the bigger picture. It is detasteful to see one dressed up in a sweatshirt+half pant when he is the bridegroom of a marriage ceremony. On top of that, I usually saw this gentleman dressed up in a formal daura suruwal coat topy (like seen in this photo). His usual appearance disappeared on that important day, that stunk.

Chana

All I am saying is do not judge a book by its cover. thats all. No need to get Defensive. I mean if the Groom feels comfortable in sweatshirt and pants that is his choice not yours not mine(its HIS wedding).

we say we are proud of being nepalese coz "nepal is never been ruled by outsider"...that is absolutely disgusting..those bloody shahas who originally came from iran ruled our country untill yesterday..and again we are going to be ruled by so called bloody " long nose" who originally came from india...i am waiting for this question to be answered  " when nepalese will rule nepal?". its too late for justice to be prevailed.

Do not go on their looks and dresses, hope they will do the right things. It is nature to expect some new with new face and official. So did the Nepalese with ex-king Gyanedra but their expectations were shattered. Hope this time it does not and even does but not that fast.

Nepalese and their typical identity crises.

What defines a nepali?

Their dress code?

The food they eat?

The slant of their eyes?

The color of their skin?

OR THEIR FAMOUS/INFAMOUS CASTE SYSTEM???

Tisa, the most identifying feature of nepali is 'masala ganhaune', and 'thukne', and biggest of all ' kura kaatne'
