Hello guys,

somebody asked me if someone with four year bachelor's degree in pharmacy can enroll in masters program in usa.  I was told that pharmacy in usa is a five year program.  in such case, what is the process for one to get into masters  or pharmD program?

Since he/she has a 4 year bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, he/she is good to go for Master's degree. In USA, the pharamcy degree is very intensive, therefore usually they take 3 yrs to finish once they get into pharamcay shcool after 2 yrs of general educations plus pharamcy pre-requisite classes (2+3). So 4 or 5 yrs of undergraduate is not an issue to get into Masters program. For PharmaD he/she must get a license first. As far as I understand, PharmD and Masters degree in Pharmacy are totally different. PhramD involves more into adminstrative work and managing a pharmacy, where as Master's is research based. He/she can apply for Master's degree via graduate school. You or friend of your's can email me via sajha, if you need more information. Thanks! Cannabis

Thanks cannabis for your response.  I will advise to send you an email via sajha.  Would you mind sharing some more information about how to get license first with undergrad from nepal/india?  can someone with undergrad from nepal get a license here?  If i am not wrong, there will be some kind of test to pass to get the license right?  thanks again.
