I am trying to debug ASP.Net (Visual Studio 2005) pages by setting break points but when I start debugging, the application doesn't pause at the break point. Instead it continues till the end. When I try this with Windows development in the same machine, debugging works fine. This issue is only seen for web projects. Has anyone seen this before? I checked in the property pages of the project to see if .Net debugging is selected. Yes it is selected. Is there any other setting I messed up?

How can I correct this? I cannot do anything if my debugging feature doesn't work..

Professional help please!!!!

Hello Prajapati ji,

It is still not working. Looks like it hasn't been seen by anyone else.  When the application is running and when I attach a process to it pointing to the running application and when I hover my cursor over the break point it reads: "The breakpoing will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loded for this document" and instead of the break point showing yellow, it is semi yellow with little warnig sign.

I don't know where I messed up on the setting.

LateEntry,

I am not an ASP.net expert but with the little experience I have, there might be 2 scenarios.

i) Make sure you are in the Debug mode and not in Release mode. This you can check on the Standard toolbar. View > Toolbars > Standard. You can set the breakpoints on Release mode but it won't be hit.

ii) Does it say something like, "Breakpoint will not be hit..." when you hover the mouse over to the breakpoint? I came across this problem recently and I spent some time googling it and was able to figure out at the end... but don't remember very well now

Good luck.... and let me know the updates...

-EC
