I am disgusted with the nature of politics  UML and Nepali Congress are doing in Nepal. They have agreed to form the government in the primership of Forum (Bijaya Gachhedar). What a shame! Do these people understand what is meaning of people's mandate? Haven't they learned lesson from the CA election? I cannot believe it. If they continue this type of politics they will win 5 seats each in the next parliament election.

Bravo UML! Bravo Cogress! You think we Nepalis are "Gai ko gobar" and you have rights whatever you want to do.

Maoist are way democratic. I can see the happiness in Prachanda's face to hug they the president of Nepal even the candidate they supported lost the election. People will evaluate all these things one day.

No it is not the happiness in Prachande's face but smile of irony. See what Mr President said to him.

Maoist are way democratic.

Can you please explain a bit more why you think maoist are way democratic than the rest of the parties. The last time I checked, they came to power and won a election after slaughtering 13,000 plus innocent people. They have a parallel militia group in the name of YCL just like the KGBs of the former Soviet Union and they want the Nepal government to help fund this group. This doesn't sound very democratic to me. And, don't get me wrong. I am not advocating the corrupt politics by the others. But, i just beg to differ that the Maoist are way democratic. I think they will always carry the red baggage of terror and blood of innocent people no matter what happens to Nepal. I would have had tremendous amount of respect for them if they had come to power and had brought all these changes through the normal political channels. It sure would have been tougher than by simply killing and terrorising people, but could have been done if they were determined to do so.

But, killings and violence in the name of revolution is just baloney.

"Terrorist" and "Revolutionary" are relative words. Nelson Mandela was a terrorist for the apartheid Government for over three decades and now he is the greatest revolutionary of all time in the history of humankind. He was even in the terrorist list of the US until few weeks ago. We can discuss about it in detail sometime later.

So who is a terrorist and who is a revolutionary depends how you interpret their actions

I'm not a Maoist fan but if Congress and UML will form a government with Bijaya Gachhadar than I agree they won't get more than 5 seats in next election.  Maoist by not forming government now are making long term plan here and if things go this way they will sweep the whole country in next election (which is goanna be really bad as they can do what ever they want).

US Senate moves to lift Mandela's 'terror' label

WASHINGTON (AFP) — The US Senate has approved a bill to remove former South African president Nelson Mandela and his African National Congress from the US terror watch list, lawmakers said Friday.

"Today the United States moved closer at last to removing the great shame of dishonoring this great leader by including him on our government's terror watch list," said Senator John Kerry.

The bill now heads to the White House, where it is expected to be signed by President George W. Bush in time for the anti-apartheid leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner's 90th birthday on July 18.

"Nelson Mandela does not belong on a terrorist watch list -- period," said Senator Sheldon Whitehouse. "The Senate's vote today will help fix a problem that has caused injustice to South African leaders and embarrassment to the United States."

In April, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice urged a Senate committee to remove the restrictions on the ANC party, calling it a "rather embarrassing matter that I still have to waive in my own counterpart, the foreign minister of South Africa, not to mention the great leader Nelson Mandela."

A similar bill also passed the House of Representatives. Barbara Lee, a California Democrat who co-sponsored the House version, said last month she was "especially pleased we are taking this important step to finally right this inexcusable wrong."

Lee and others said the legislation introduced during the 1980s while Ronald Reagan was president is anachronistic and wrongfully labels as terrorists men and women who are heroes and freedom fighters.

Lee recalled that the ANC could travel to United Nations headquarters in New York but not to Washington, DC, or other parts of the United States.
