May be it’s not a good time to write about the topic I’ve choose. Actually I was thinking to write about it few weeks back as soon as the first CA meeting, but time constraint always kept me away from it. Election for the President and Vice-P reminded me about what I thought a while ago and gave me more to write about.

I would like to congratulate both of them for winning the lottery ticket. A person whose ideology of politics is “lickassology” have become the first President and the other who even being in the Profession of judge wouldn’t miss a chance to bag money from drug smugglers is now the Vice-P. Did they ever expect it would happen in their life?  Of course not.

Anyway I didn’t start writing to talk much about these two. I’m writing this to wonder about the patriotism. Patriotism of those MPs, who were present on the first meeting of CA.  Patriotism and ability of those security personnel who were providing security during the time.  Now may be I made you wonder “why the hell this person is talking about the patriotism”?

Let me put is this way, Babban singh who won the election from “Rauthahat-1” was then in the most wanted list of Nepal police, came to the first CA meting, stayed there for so long and went out again unseen. How funny it sounded to hear when Medias reported he played hide and seek with security personnel. Is it really possible? What were the security personnel doing there? Looking at the girls or guys or “line mardai baseko” forgetting what they were there for? Was there some kind of “mela” going on? What if some terrorists had gone in and detonated the bomb? Or did they not know he was the wanted man? If they didn’t know, then whose job is it to circulate the wanted criminals names and photos to all its personnel? This makes me wonder about the patriotism and ability of all security personnel and police or whatever.

Now when Babban went in, how is it possible he would not be recognized by any MPs? Were the MPs still on hangover after the grand party for their win or they were just thinking about bagging his vote for their future nominees of President, Vice-P, and PM etc.? It is the selfish behavior of them not to complain about his presence inside the compound of historic event and order security personnel to take him under the custody. They were just thinking of them and their party instead of thinking about the country which clearly shows their patriotism. How can we trust them for making new Constitution? Is our constitution going to be like this “1.1 to be nominated for the MP, you should have a criminal background 1.2 to be the prime minister you should have masterminded a terrorist activity” and so on?

Blame is not only limited to those security personnel and MPs. Patriotism is questionable of those parties which then supported him standing on the election and of those who cast their vote just thinking about the ethnicity rather than the nation and nationalism. Election commission has to take a part of the blame too. They should have checked the background of the applicant. What were they thinking when they accepted application of someone like Babban. Were they drunk?  So this makes me wonder about the patriotism of everyone in the chain.

Forgetting about the people who were misled during the election, someone probably should consider about suing all the CA members and Security personnel, present on the first CA meeting. As we know doing something illegal is crime however, hiding a criminal is the greater one especially by law makers and law keepers. I still don’t understand why this issue was not highlighted by any media with greater impact. Yes, some of them raised the issue but not with much interest which really surprised me.

Someone he or she whose name and exact words I can’t remember told true when he/she said “at the current situation our country demands for the people whom the lust of chair does not kill, who posses visions, opinions and will, who love honor and who can not lie”.  Until now it looks like our motherland have failed to give birth to a patriot like that.
