My Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop's battery has been dying and it needs to be changed.

I have looked online for a replacement battery (DELL) and it is quite expensive.

I was wondering if buying a generic battery and not DELL to save some money would not have any negative effects on my laptop.

Does anyone have an idea?

in my openion look at the current in the generic battery,and current required for your laptop.also check if watts are the same
