Nepal's ministerial jobs has become a mere toy in the hands of the members of ever changing political parties. Recent example = Yadav was Forest and Soil Conservation MInister (Who denied my rhino proposal mainly he did not understand GPS technology) and now he is in Land Reform and Management. Yami was Minister for Physical Planning and Works and now she is got to be Tourism and Aviation minister.

I don't know about Yadav's background but heard Yami was once an engineer. So now she is gonna use builidng and road desings to promote ecoturism and curb green leakage - a humoungous question that time can only answer!!!

GOD, will Nepal ever see decent and appropriate people attached to intended positions???

Two ministers take oath

Minister for Land Reform and Management, Matrika Yadav, and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hisila Yami, took oath of office Thursday.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal administered them oath of office and secrecy in the presence of President Dr Ram Baran Yadav during a ceremony organised at the presidential palace, Shital Niwas.

The two ministers were out of the country on Sunday when 13 other ministers were sworn in. Both represent the CPN (Maoist). nepalnews.com mk Sept 04 08

Seriously speaking, its a recipe for another prolongation of same last 10 or so years we had.

What different happened now. Its the same old politics. MPRF and maoists who have nothing in common in terms of ideology, Maoists and UML who are poles apart or lets say who were poles apart..join hands not for the sake of the country but for the sake of going to power. Its nothing different.

Democracy is not achieved by just going to ballot boxes, voting and forming a govt. Democracy is acieved through checks and balances. Which is totally absent here. Also deserving people should be in deserving posts. If India had Manmohan Singh as a finance minister he was the renowned economist in the world stage. Why can't we pick someone who is extremely talented and make the financial sector TOTALLY NON POLITICAL coz Nepal needs it now. These politicians can be ministers just because they have affiliation with a party .

Sucks.

If unicornis' proposal is rejected bcoz the minister doesn't understand GPS, Its necessary we have highly skilled people in those posts..specially Finance, Research, Development, IT sectors and make them totally development focussed and non political.

Thank you agian Prabhat bro for understanding my point. u are so right about minister selection. u have to have party affliation.

we should learn from our neighboring giants - India is fourth economic power and China has revolutionized in every aspects of development and we are still living back in the 70's.

Dr.Eric from US spent ~14 years studying our national pride -one-horned rhino and he used conventional raiotelemetry to study rhino's movement pattern, habitat use and home range. its been more than 2 decades since this study during this periond Nepal went through massive changes from political to population and to wildlife. I came up with this idea to use advanced state of the art GPS device that has several advantages over the conventional radiotelemetry and wrote 30 page long proposal. my family members (i was here) took that proposal to DNPWC and I called the ecologist who was reviewing my proposal. he said i have to sumbit to Forest Ministry which I did and for 6 months they kept me waiting and finally I got email from Yadav and his team saying it is denied. it was my dream project that got shattered cause we have stupids in higher posts who doesn't possess advancing world and its technology.

will keep trying.

U know bro, I can totally identify with that.

The way I understand is this. I love being in Nepal, waking up in the morning, ride my thotro bike go to a near by tea shop, have a cup of local tea. hangout with my buddies, get dust, be dirty by the end of the day and retire to bed. I loved that feeling of Afnopan u know, afno hawa, afno mato, afno ghar... in Nepal. I miss that in US. I can drive my car, but my shitty bike on the road to tapowan was more enjoyable. I can have subs but that momo in any okay momo shop was more tasty.

Quite honestly, the love ends there and frustration starts threafter.

That u are educated, talented, and wanna contribute to the underdeveloped country, there are so many road blocks. By the time u think something might happen, u r exhausted and tired by pleasing all the people in power, dejected by the corrupt and stupid bureaucracy and technocracy. Its then, u say damn it, and life in US seems more systematic.

This is just an honest truth as per I am concerned. Bitter but true.

Life in US is definitely better than in the other parts of the world that is why hundreds and thousands are lured to this nation every day/year.

As for food, I miss all those near organic foods of Nepal, the freswater fishes (less contaminated then here) of our rivers (remember malekhu and other stops parallel to river Trishuli) and the smell of the soil after monsoon - i can go on and on.

As I said, will never stop trying. Future rest in our hands.
