Has anyone bought PS3 in US and used it in Nepal?  I read many forums and can't completely figure out if it'll work without the converter or not.  Some say, PS3 works from 110-240V and don't need any converter.  Also, I realized PS3 games are region free, so US purchased games will work, but what about blu-ray dvd.  Will all of them work or just the ones that are not region coded.  Thanks.

Ya all bluray will work.

If u buy a ps3 in usa and use in nepal then region doesnot matter because it is north american version...

other thing, to play any games or movies in ps3, it has to be original and I dont think u get original in nepal as well as if u even got it, no one can afford it. I mean 65 X 75 rs for a game???

No way

Let me rephrase the questions:

1)  Will I need a converter in Nepal to use a PS3 purchased in US?  In other words, does PS3 have universal power supply (such as in laptops) where it won't be necessary to use a converter.

2)  Region code does matter.  If I buy US PS3, will I be able to play DVD that I bought in Nepal, because US and Nepal will have different region code, and since the PS3 console will be from US but the DVD will be bought in Nepal, will I still be able to play those dvd from Nepal.

Thanks in advance for any help.

we are talking in the context of nepal.. would you pay like Rs 5000 for a game? and do you think all the PS2 games bought in like $15=Rs 800 rounded up in Nepal.. its just Rs 50-100 in nepal..

for me its not affordable.. if it's affordable for you then you are from Billionare family i will go out of your way
