hi guys,

i am a student in f1 visa. i am thinking to invest some money in  the cart in mall and probably get run by myself. Is it good time for the cart buisness( economic reason)? what would be the best buisness to start in the malls? body jewelery , glasses, perfumes, bags, toys or any other suggestions. i am thinking to open from janauray since cards are not in sale due to chrismas rush. i talk with some people, some say it will go loss due to economic condition while some say you still can make little bit of profit. but i need a real suggestions. thank you. Appreciate your suggestions.

how you even can think to open a cart in the mall with F1 visa. no way, you cannot open and that is illegal.

everyone just loves to tell F1s this is illegal and that is illegal and make their life hell. I don't know what the hell do they enjoy by scaring others. probably just feeding their own ego.

Before opening carts in mall, I advice to be aware of Amreican rules. Anyone ignores rules, ultimately should face the problem. 8848m yr idea of opening cart is wonderful but talk to lawyer for the necessary arrangement then come back to sajha so that we can start more and more cart bzness in F1 visa status. It is funny idea by dyamn.

there are thousands of Nepali students who work in oc and estes park every summer. and thousands of them work in gas stations and other places too. we all know at least 20 Nepalis who worked like that and now are permanent residents too. oh! i'm sure they all must have consulted lawers and gotten approval from jackarses in sajha before they did so huh?

all,

It is very sad that some people like dyamn are so ignorant and arrogant that they dont care what they are talking about and probably dont have any clue either. Working in OC and opeing a business in mall is entirely different and everyone should be well aware of that. To start a business, one has to get all the papers and permission from the state as well as get liscenses and tax approvals. A person in F1 can't get that. Of course one can chose to invest money on it, if he/she knows someone who can legally run the business for him/her. It will be under the table kinna business.

So please, if you cant give a decent suggestion to others, at least dont give something that might get others in trouble in future.

AJ

He is thinking about running and investing, did not menthon about filing under his name. now a days finding a wondering around DV winner is not hard at all . I know some people in F1s who have invested and running  under a dv winner. few years ago i knew some h1b from dhoti consultancies and some f1s too opening carts in malls and putting their girlfriends to sell.

Hell , i did not even make any suggestion. I didn't tell the guy to go do it. I just hate it when some of you arrogant fools come in here and scare F1s. it almost feel like you guys enjoy seeing them suffering. we all know how F1s work and go through schools, some are lucky to get scholorships while some work and support for themself. before telling me what is legal and what is illegal, u need to see what kind of circumstances and pressure people are living under. In this land of opportunity who take the risk and dowhat they need to do will do well.

If you want to run your own business (as long as you will be paying sales tax to State) you need to register a company with state. There are different catagory. LLC or Inc. Then you will need to register for the permitt with the county where the mall is located. They  require you as a owner to be legal in the country (sometimes you might be lucky enough where they will not ask for your legal status as long as you have your social security number but you might be in trouble at the end of the year when filing for taxes). If investing money with other legal status folks please becareful and invest wisely. Also make sure you talked to mall management, They might not let you open one if the cart in that particular mall already selling your product like you mentioned earlier in the thread.  I know sun glasses are nice and have a good margin. Also those funny t-shirts are good seller. souvenior if you live in tourist spots are good seller as well. Tickers watches with souvenior for the city you live in is also a good idea. Bags occupy a lot of space although you can hang them but might not have that much of a margin. Also your idea of starting a business in January is wise coz rent is way too high for the month of Nov and Dec. You might say its the best season of the year but you might be on tight budget and hard for you to have cash flow to operate a business.

Its just my thought. Love to hear more ideas
