Maoists have debated and discussed on the issue of Landlocked situation of Nepal and how to resolve it to build New Nepal. Essentially, Maoists intellectuals have narrowed down to two possible solutions:
1. Co-mingle Nepal to Greater India. This is the easiest step to turn Nepal into Un-landlocked country. However, it has been identified that vehement opposition will have to be faced by Maoist Government to implement this step.
2. The best scientific method identified is to melt all the ice-caps of the world. and bring the sea right at the door step of the current border of Nepal. Melting the 29,300,000 km
3 of grounded ice would produce 26,100,000
km
3 of water. Also, about 2,100,000 km
3 of the grounded ice in Antarctica is below
sea level and would be replaced by water. Thus, the net addition to the world's oceans would be about 24,000,000
km
3 of water spread over the 361,000,000 km
2 area of the
world's oceans, giving a depth of 67 - 100 meters.Thus bringing the new sea level right at the altitude of Nepal's terai border, thereby Nepal will no more be called Landlocked country.
It appears that the second solution has been almost endorsed by the central bureau of CPN (Maoists). The party has instructed PM Prachanda to raise this issue with the North European countries in his upcoming Foreign trip. It is believed that quite a bit of nuclear weapons might be at disposal since the cold war has ended. Prachanda will be proposing EU countries to allow Maoists cadres to use such weapons at the North and Sounth Poles of the earth to melt the ice masses. Prachanda will be emphasizing the fact that his cadres are fully trained with much needed experience during their recent 13 years of revolution in Nepal.
