hi,,

I have a question. My mom dad got visa for my graduation. Its been 2 mntrhs. they are plannig to come here next year. But i heard that they must visit me within 1 year or the visa gets cancelled. Is it true? I would love to have them over here right now but with no job and my future looming in limbo i cant call them right now..If they have to come within 1 year i have to work somehing out...

Does anybody have any idea??

By the way, it just came up.. so I would like to ask one question....

I am planning to call my parents, so what kinda question they would ask in the visa councelor and also how much money do they require in the account.... and do they need to know anything special before going for the interview...

I would really appreciate your help...

I am sure, they should come within 6 months period of getting their visa, otherwise homeland security depot them back to nepal.

yeap, that is correct. They have to be here within 6 months else they would not let them enter unless they changed the rule recently.

My mom came to US after 2 years of visa (B1/B2) issuance. She did not have any problem at the POE.

I think 6 months deadline applies to DV lottery winners. I don't think there is any deadline for visitor's visa holder. They can come any time as long as visa is valid and a valid cause of visit to show at port of entry.

Let it be known to all that whatever we may have experienced and and may hear with regard to any immigration issue, and  visas (of any kind) is totally based on someone else's specific case. I would say that each and every case differs although, the context may seem to be the same. Thus, my conclusion about coming to US after getting the visa is completely dependent on the Officer at POE. I would say it is purely speculative and much depends on individual luck, as well to some extent. Therefore, I would advise Cybro to invite his parents ASAP and make rational decision rather than discussing the issue (which I would say is good to know about it) since there are endless opinions about the subject matter.

Good Luck in your mission.

My mom came after 2 years after getting visitor visa..

There is no time limit until it's mention in the visa itself for 5 years multiple visa...

Chill get a job first and think about calling them later... :) Best of Luck
