Take a nice bath, before leaving for Nepal.

Carry perfume and deodarants.. they will come handy if you may never get a chance to take a bath in Nepal.

Night vision goggles might be useful keeping in mind that most of the time there will be no electricity in the evening and night times.

I've been there few months back and had no problem with a laptop and digicam plus camcorder, if you have some known persons working in the airport it will ease the tension though. Best of Luck on your journey and hope you'll like it although there is nothing to like about ( I mean load shedding for everything, electricity, water air)http://sajha.com/sajha/chat/smileys/m-biggrin.gif

I don't know if it helps you or not but I had two laptops and three digi cams when I went back. I just moved through the Green Path or something and no one checked me. I looked like a student so I guess no one cared as well.

The custom is very tight these days. So if you are carrying over the limit, ofcourse you have to pay. Think about that and limit your electronic gadgets like laptop, camera etc. Enjoy!!!

When I went home recently, I had no problem whatsoever.  I went through the green channel.  I was about to put my luggage into the xray machine.  The gentleman there asked me where I was coming from.  I said America.  He told me to go ahead and not bother putting the bags through the machine.  Easy Peasy.

Pay all the customs fee that you are responsible for. If not, shut the fock up and stop bitching about the load shedding, this and that in Nepal. People like you  are a big contributor of the situations in Nepal. You want to get away from your responsibilities and expect others to do their parts. Foking hypocrites.

They say that it's tight these days, but the only difference I found last month was that luggages were compulsorily passed through the machine. They probably won't detect or won't care about 1 or 2 cameras in the luggage. The securitymen seemed  to be more alert this time, though. One thing that surprised me was the rule to indicate about your personal notebook in your passport at the time of departure from TIA. I somehow managed without that 'tancha' while coming back last week. Anyway, don't know what is that meant for. Seems you cannot change your notebook model.
