PARSA, March 28 - Locals set ablaze a van of Nepal Police at Nepal-India border in Raxaul on Saturday afternoon.
The van (Ba 1 Jha 7741) of Ranighat police post, Birgunj was vandalised and torched by some locals at Raxaul claiming themselves to be associated with Indian criminal groups of "Sanju Baba" and "Manoj Sahani".
The van was heading to India to purchase some electronic equipment for the police post.
The police personnel, who were on board, immediately fled the scene after the locals started to torch the van.
Moments later, the group also vandalised two private vans.
Superintendent of Parsa Police Subodh Ghimire said the situation is under control and Nepali vehicles are safe after the Indian police carried out investigation immediately after the incident.
