Hey folks.

Could someone enlighten me about IT Firms in bigger cities? I've heard that there are a lot of IT and other recruiting firms and I wish to try my luck with some in California area. Would anybody care to share his or her experiences?

nicocareer2@gmail.com a Nepali IT firm in the midwest specializes in Cali region as well. Unfortunately, 90% of new requirement openings are for EAD, GC, and Citizens. Hence, the competition is very high.

Solitudeman, where abouts in Cali bro? I'm comtempelating on moving over to Bay area or NYC after graduating. I'm gonna graduate w/ a degree in Finance. I don't need to worry about OPT and what not ( hope that gives you a hint ).

What are the fields in which jobs are available?

SF,SJ, Fresno, Sacremento, LA, Sinicon Valley etc. The firm only specializes in IT consultants unfortunately.

For a Finance major, East Coast used to be the place to be. However, it can be difficult for companies to sponsr your H1b or GC approval, especially if you are business consultant (that is my understanding, could be a misleading statement). Another direction I can suggest is to have a career change to Finance/ Business Analyst and focus on Financial Enterprise Application tools such as (ERP, Accounts Paybable, Billing, JD Edwards, Oracle Financials). In the long run, it will make it easier for you go be qualified for H1b, GC (if not mistaken) especially with the current crisis. Training in BA can take \you a month or so.

For a professional career direction, you need to get Finance, Business consultant's advise on this.

Good luck.

Solitudeman,

I already mentioned that I don't require to be sponsored. I just need a getway. and what not. Where do I start? Do you belong to a recruiting company?
