A friend of mine in Nepal got DV lottory.When is the right time to get married for him? Can he add his wife(not married yet) as an dependent if he gets merried after getting second letter? Any Idea?

Is he ready for marriage????? He or she does not need to be getting married just because he/she got DV.   If his DV serial number is after 13000 may be in waiting list  for chance? and may not be able to get visa? What happens to her dream to go to USA? Again once you come to USA, you may have different vision and idea and may regretted marrying in Nepal because you just married to have and bring spouse with you. Your taste and choice may alter once you board to USA and what if you start liking others and start seeing and experiencing unmatched and difference in thinking and no understanding but only compromises?????????

Any way, he should get married before he files the paper work and he must add his spouse info and marriage certificate in that paper. I know on gentleman married a woman after dv lottery winning and went to USA.

They are Bf/gf and are almost certain to get married next year. I will just explain them the rule/ situation. Rest is their decision and their life. Thanks all for suggestion.

Everythings need in black and white, civil marriage does not count in DV case. Have marriage certificate and must have her name as his spouse while doing paperwork otherwise she has to await about 6-7 years.

Syajali is 100% right. Just do a legal work. Do not try to make fake documents. You should not have a problem with the US consulor. Unless its a (Grey headed) nepali guy working in US embassy try to make extra cash from you.

He/her needs to have his/her name on their second letter would be better.
