Hello Sajhaites...

I am doing a research on the demographic distribution of our Nepalese people in the East Coast Area, esp Baltimore, NYC, Boston, and Virginia..and also collecting informations about the famous hang out places out there... like where do they go for shopping or recreations etc...for instance, Jackson Height in NYC...

If anybody could help me out with the infosor any links, I would really appreciate it.

Have A good day....

I lived in Baltimore for 7 years and recently moved out to Collegepark,MD which is  25/35mins away from  DC,VA,Baltimore .. If you go to Baltimore you will see Nepalis everywhere in the street, gasstation, fastfood, shopping mall and local busses and for shopping they go to nearer mall like Towson Mall since they have frequent bus transportation. There's a community colleges called BCCC and CCBC and the one BCCC has almost 200 nepalis. There're so many places for  shopping or  recreation and too many nepalis too so i cant exactly say where do they go, there are uncountable nepalis students/families lives outthere. Hope you will find some info from this Baltimore website.
 Good Luck for your research.

Hi there,

I am a student in VA and there are alot of Nepalese people here too. VA also has a huge indian population so that makes it easy to shop around for grocery or dine in to local indian restaurants.

Nepali people usually goto shopping in Tysons corners one of the biggest mall around area. VA has its nepalese community spread in various counties. I guess Loudon and Prince William are affordable in housing so families who have town homes or houses live around that area too. Apart from that there are many temples.. Rajdhani in Chantilly, Durga temple in Lorton that has various events and Hindu festivals so most nepalese visit them. There are various places for recreation so you can find Nepali families and people go to most of these places like Old town Alexandria, Burke Lake, Great Falls, Shennadoah valley, Lurray cavern, movie theateres etc. Also it has a lot of Indian, aisan restaurants so you will always find a way to get a taste of it. There is a really good nepalese restaurant in DC too and it has really good nepali food like choela, alu ko achar, chatamari etc..so this is all I know

http://www.ansdc.org/nepali_organization.php You can find a list of Nepali organizations in DC, VA and contact them for more info.

Thanks
