Police have arrested central member and Bhojpur district coordinator of Kirat Janbadi Workers' Party (KJWP) Ajay Kumar Rai, alias Kainla Khumbu, in connection with the bomb blast near Vice President's Paramananda Jha's residence in Gaurighat Friday evening.

The police arrested Rai from Taltaliya of Itahari municipality, Sunsari, Saturday midnight.

Earlier, a person who identified himself as Navin Kirati, the chairman of KJWP, called Avenues TV and owned up the blast saying 'his party' would take further action against VP Jha if he did not take oath in Nepali by today.

However, Bibas Dinesh, general secretary of KJWP issued a press statement on Sunday saying his party is not responsible for the blasts.

Dinesh claimed, the person who owned up the blasts identifying himself as the chairman of the party is not a member of his party.
