Sure, absolutely.

It's called "Thanks Taking" and we celebrate it throughout the year.

Jokes aside. I am not sure if there is one.  Lets see what other sajhaities have to say.

First GOOGLE or BING the history of Thanksgiving and after you find out the context of this festival you will find out that there is nothing like TGD in Nepal.

Yes, we do Dashai. Dashai is a combination of thanksgiving and Christmas. We eat large portion of food in dashi just like thanksgiving and then buy new cloths etc or give gifts like in Christmas.

:)

You guys are just talking about the food and the word thanks. When you don't know the context how can you compare it?

If eating a lot of food is the onlything you are looking for then Wedding receptions are more like thanks giving :))

Thanks giving has its root in history linking the Immigrants and Native American people.

Just google guys it is much easier and better to get informed and then comment on any subject.

Have  a great time.

My question is: Do we really need something like Thanksgiving in our culture.

Our culture is way more rich than Christians. And they sure do know this. And turkey does not even taste good. Goat meat is unbeatable.
