 Out of Status f-1 student,

My friend was notified by his school last week that he has been out of status since August.
He is currently working under OPT. He had applied for MS in the same school where he did BS, he did not want to study there because he did not secure an assistantship. However, the school put him as MS student in SEVIS thus terminating his OPT in August.

What options does he have? Any help is appreciated.

If he is not enrolled in the college, ask his/her DSO to do a SEVIS data fix..

thanks pryadeshbashi,
i think what he is worried about is applying for reinstatement if the DSO cant do a data fix.
does anyone have experience with such situation?
