My friend has a terrible tooth ache and after a dental checkup we found out that it takes about 3000 to fix everything.....He does not have a dental insurance and $3000 required for root canal. Does anybody have any suggestions or know how it could be done with lesser amount......PLz do reply.

$3000 is rip-off.   Call around other dentists. You can even bargain saying you are student with dental insurance.  Tell then if it is front tooth or back tooth.  i am sure you arealy have "tooth number" from the dentist your friend saw.  Average cost for root canal and porcellain crown should  be around $1200 to $1300.

3000$ for root canal is quite expensive ! May be this included a crown too.

He should to an emergency clinic of UPenn and get something called "pulpectomy" to relieve the pain.
He can get the root canal done later on.

Possible! 'cause most of the Nepalese people carry Gum Diseases alone with the root canal. And most Nepalese never do dental check up in life time unless it becomes serious. I know this much because my cousin, he is an Army Dentist back home. Good man! Working as A Dentist back home for the country. NOT LIKE NEPALESE DENTIST IN US...MONEY IS LIFE FOR THEM...
