Hi guys i currently work for a company which does a business of about $400000 a year. I work in Cash now but am about to complete my undergrad. My boss said the company could sponsor me but he does not know if he can do it. What do you think? Any ideas? Is H1 the only way he can sponsor me or there are any other forms? And this is not a desi company. Any idea appreciated.

@max broda: its not about a big/small company. Its about your annual income and the field u will working. Inorder to file H1B, the employer( you) sud be getting around 40K-50K per annum( am not sure abut exact fiugure). I'd suggest u to talk to ur International Student adviser about ur situation. For ex: ur current degree, ur graduation date, the background of company who is willing to hire u. NOTE: Dont mention that u worked on cash before. Just mention that a company is willing to hire you and sponsor H1B for you. If i get any info then i will definitely share it wid u in near future.

Maxpayne, You are very lucky to have someone sponsor you even in such worse economic condition. To be able to sponsor someone, your company must be able to show it is financially sound to do so. Rest the attorney will give advice to you. Good luck !

As long as the company is financially solvent, and your job qualifies as a "speciality occupation" the size of the employer does not matter. You need to make sure the salary they pay you is the same as or exceeds the prevailing wage for that job in the region. You can find out the prevailing wage for your city at the Foreign Labor Certification site : http://www.flcdatacenter.com/OesWizardStart.aspx . Your lawyer should be able to give you more details. Hire a good lawyer so that you minimize your chances of getting an RFI (request for information from the USCIS ) which can delay the process.
