Honestly it is utterly shameful that nepal is even contesting in WCL division 5 . So much we have fallen.

Look
at afganistan . They were in division 6. They now have official one day
playing status and almost qualified to 50 over world cup. They have
qualified to 20-20 world cup.

10 years ago, when Nepal started
defeating teams like Pakistan, bangladesh, south africa and then new
zealand in U-19 level there was genuine hope.  People were even saying
nepal will play world cup in 2011.

I
for one believed in early 2000s  that nepal would at least compete with
teams like kenya, ireland, netherlands, canada, scotland and USA by
2010. Because that should be the level Nepal should at least be in.
But opposite happened. Nepal started free fall.

Where is the problem?

I
always advocated the way nepalese cricket is run is wrong.  Nepal will
never reach the world cup if they don't change their policy.

===     CAN has made a policty for Nepal's cricket that every
player playing for national team should be nepali home grown. Now that
is bull s**t policy.        When teams all over the world are poarching
the players why nepal  have to be Raja Harischandra.    Look at the
AFgan team ... full of pakistani born players who would never get
chance for pakistan.  Look at canada, usa. All expat and foreign
players.

                      Look at England.  Eion
Morgan Irish born now plays for England, Kevin peterson, andrew
strauss....Brendan nash for west indies, paul harris for south africa
etc.

I am not saying nepal should bring all the
foreign players from India , sri lanka and paksitan. But they can at
least trade some good players who have no chance in their respective
countries by giving citizenship.  A strong team with combination of
home grown players and expat players can be made.  I am 100 percent
sure that nepal will at least compete with  Ireland, netherlands,
Afganistan in 5  years if this is followed. Sooner CAN realises better
it is for Nepal.
