What in the world is a PRE -OPT????

As far as i know, if you dont find the job related to your degree within 90 days, you will be out of status. So its better to start the school again just to be in the safe side. Remember you have to work related to your degree, not in a gas station or restaurant. You also have to verify your employer if you got hired. This is best to my knowledge....but i might be wrong. 

@rockey07- I think alchi_lagyo is asking about the pre-completion OPT not the post-completion OPT. To me it seemed like your answer was regarding post-completion OPT.

@alchi_lagyo- I don't know much about  Pre-completion OPT. I have never been able to understand why anyone would get Pre-completion OPT rather than CPT( I guess pre-completion OPT doesn't have reporting requirements but your post-completion OPT days are deducted. That's a huge disadvantage ). Hopefully, someone else will have an answer for you. Good luck.

@jptsamacha--Pre-completion OPT allows students who have not yet completed a degree program to be authorized for off-campus employment.
