I'm soon traveling in Qatar Airways through Doha to Kathmandu. While going to Kathmandu i have 9 hrs transit and while returning back i have 21 hrs . I'm hearing that Qatar airways provide free hotel accommodation while u r in transit in Doha. Is this apply for everyone whoever travels in Qatar airways or i have to pay for it.One of my friend traveled last DEC. and he said it was free for him. I'm really not sure in my case though. I would really appreciate someone's experience in it.

Thank You

You paid to your agency , why did not you check with them? Your agent must have answer for you and the right place to have a query.

If you have more than 12 hrs of transit then you will get a free hotel accommodation. If it is less than that you will get only a meal voucher at the airport.

I traveled to  Nepal on August, while going it was 8 hrs transit so only food voucher was available but while returning it was 13 hrs transit so they provided a 5 star hotel with complementary dinner and breakfast buffet. I returned in November 2009, i think nothing has changed since then.

I travelled last june, they provided me free hotel. But Let me tell you that there were people who were not given accomodation also. So, I would suggest better talk to your travel agent or try to contact to Qatar airways and ask what is the indication that says accomodation will be provided if the stay is longer than 8 hrs?

Best of luck and have fun in Nepal.

Jai Nepal

I hadn't paid for the hotel accomodation.

As I said earlier if your transit is above 12 hours it is the rule of the airlines to give you free accomodation it has nothing to do with your travel agents. In another case if your transit is less than 12 hrs and if you still like to have hotel accomodation then you should book and pay for the hotel fee.

Again, for transit over 12 hrs don't pay the travel agent, the accomodation is the courtesy of airlines. If your transit is less than 5 hours you will get nothing and if it is from 5-q2 they will give you food voucher, all courtesy of Qatar airlines.
