dear  friends,

I am currently in OPT period which started from feb 15,2010, had applied for  PhD  but got rejection letters,  but thinking of filing political asylum, asked a lawyer, who suggested me to visit nepal ( as I am here for 3 yrs or more) , stay for a month or so, make documents in nepal, come back and file asylum.he sugggested me to make a fake job offer letter from any company ,does not matter how big or small and  then travel with that fake offer letter.

1.plz suggest me if I can take a risk and go outside the country in opt(  I still have visa)

2.  is there anyone who share the same story or file political asylum in opt by going outside the country.

 3. kind response will be highly appreciated

hi A1B2

I don't think travelling in opt is a good idea. Regarding the case of filing asylum, I have heard many people got their asylum approved regardless of their stay (3 yrs or more) but the point is u should be able to come up with a reasonable point that why u r filing asylum after 3 yrs...............tapaile interview ma strong reason dekhayera convince garna sakyo vane  that'd be great!
