Chairman
Prachanda has been selected as among the 100 most famous people in the
world by the organizers of the Shanghai Expo. This was done via
messages of 100 world celebrities for the Shanghai Expo including that
of Prachanda.
Jiefang Daily, Wenhui Daily, Shanghai Daily,
Shanghai radio and television stations, Eastday.com and other media
have been publishing or broadcasting manuscripts from the celebrities
from the 100-day countdown of Shanghai World Expo, spread on the theme
“Better City, Better Life.” Former Prime Minister Prachanda's
congratulatory message to the people of Shanghai was published in the
Shanghai daily of March 10th which is a rare honour to the Nepali
people. Not only the Shanghai daily but other Chinese newspapers in
Beijing carried the message.
Among the other world celebrities are
Minister Mentor of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew, former German Chancellor
Gerhard Schroeder, former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo [Disallowed String for - Bad word 'fuook']uda, former
United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger,
Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka,
etc. The fact that Prachanda has been kept in the same stature as with
Henry Kissinger and Lee Kuan Yew is something of very high importance,
according to analysts.
