One of my friends, just got back from nepal, 2 days ago. He got the stamp.

now here is the deal to all who talks a lot about stamping in nepal:

1) if you are working for indian consultant - you are going to stuck there for at least 5 months, since these days they ask you for not only your employement verification/ paystubs etc but also the EMPLOYER's tax and some other veryfying documents. They started this since last year's dhoti's consultant's issues.  To avoid delay and get back on time, you can take all those documents with you and submit together, that could save you at least a month. They directly check from there if your "indian consultant is in good standing and not a fraud".

1) If you hold a white collar job, and not working for an indian consultant (size of the company doesn't matter) - nothing to worry about - almost zero risk. salarry sometimes matters - e.g. masters degree in engineering with 30k sallary, sounds funny!  The salary should sound reasonable, e.g. masters degree in engineering in entry level - 40k/ yr ...it sounds reasonable.

2) if you are arrested,  charged misdemeanor (any level), you will be stucked there for at least 3 months. since you will have to answer "yes" in the arrested or not question. then they will start investigation, usually they take fingerprint and send to DC for a quick security check if it true, if its within their code to provide you re-entry to US.  usually first DUI gets the visa...

3) If you have record of felony - i would not allow you to come back,,,if you got the visa luckily, i will [Disallowed String for - bad word] you and kick your ass out of US,  and this will never happen.

so the summary is

 - if you are working, have resonable salary, not with dhoti consultant, no matter if your major is different than what you are currently working on - you will get visa...just go, don't bother people here again and again.

- if you are with dhoti consultant, there is 75% chance that you will stuck there for 3-5 months, to reduce this time you can take your employment verification AND your employers documents. and if you fall under the other 25%, you are a lucky bastard.

- if you have misdemeanor - there is a 90% chance of you getting stucked for at least 3 months.

- if you have felony - remember i will not allow your ass to enter the US.

i agree with rodiohead,

there have been like more than 100 threads on this subject matter, and each time someone else pops up and asks the same question, i guess, you dont feel like answering the same questions every time you see the thread.

so either the guys seeking the info should do some more research before posting , i mean seek advice only if your situation is unique or rather different than anyone else or the sajha admin should have a permanent thread or a section where all these infos and previous postings should be saved !!!
