Hello Sajha users,

Is there any service provider who lets you use smart phone without data plan?? My service provider is AT&T. As my contract was over and I needed a new phone, yesterday I stopped by one ATT store but came to know that for new smart phone I must get data plan with 2 years contract.Any input guys????

Another thing is, I need to use couple of medical softwares for my work. Which phone ..Blackberry or i phone?? which one is better option  for downloading and using professional softwares??Please advice. Thank you

Prity.

Prity,

from personal experience, if you are not gonna use data plan then you will be missing almost half the advantage of using smartphone. but that doesn't mean u shudn't be using it. u can easily buy smartphones thru craiglist. i am pretty sure with the new iphone 4 out, iphone 3 and 3GS must be sellin in much cheaper price now. and same applies for blackberry or android phones.
Regarding your nursing program, rather than wondering which smartphone to buy, first research if that nursing program even has an app for blackberry, iphone or android. Once you find it, i think it's easier 4 u to make decision. If i were u i wud rather buy iphone/android phones since they have more apps.

I would like to Thank you all for your inputs.

Getting $15 data plan from your service provider  and using the wifi at home, library, university area where there is  free wifi, is it allowed in the Smart phone by ATT?? Or is it like whenever you use wifi it's gonna reduce from your 200 MB /$15 plan? Any idea???? Is there a way you turn the ATT wifi off and use home wifi on it when you are at home? Please advice.

@Marulez, the software I was talking about is for medical students and MD and  paramedics. And that has an app for blackberry, iphone or android. Thank you.

prity,

You won't burn your limit if you use wifi out of your iphone. Whenever you have wife accessible you can just connect to the internet choosing wife connection.

Dang ! I did not notice that until I read Geology Tiger's post  ;-)

Hey Prity, try this ATT's link     https://www.wireless.att.com/business/
One of my friends got android smart phone for free and no data plans few days ago, it was refurbished though. The same phone, new condition was around 50 bucks !
Gud Luck !

I tried to find one for Tmobile, but no success....

If any of you guyz have similar link to Tmobile, i'd really appreciate that.
