Call your card issuer and ask if they have anything like "use it the way you want checks" which come with low interest fee (10%-18%). They also have 0% introductory fee. I know city cards have the program and many other card issuer do. This is a much better solution then to take cash advances. If you still wanna get cash advance then there is work around. 1. Have two credit cards ready. Both needs to have a healthy credit line. 2. Call first card issuer and ask for balance transfer check. 3. After you get the check, grab the second card and do a cash withdrawal. 4. Use the balance transfer check to transfer balance from the second card. Why you do this? to avoid 29%+ interest they charge you for getting cash advance. I recommend you not to use cash advance at all unless your are really desperate and need a life line. I would rather go apply a personal loan based on credit from a credit union. Most credit card companies cap cash advance limit and they keep it as low as 20%. In the good old days discover use to give you 100% cash advance on your line of credit!!! Either way, good luck.

goreto's idea works too.....but here are some other tricks u can give it try, they work but not always.
1. Buy something from walmart, go back the same or next day to return it and ask for cash. The easiest and cheapest way if it works. Its very possible that the cashier may deny it and refund it back to the the credit card you purchased from. be creative at the spot  , sometimes they might ask you to swipe the original card, answer that you forgot the card. Sometimes u can say that you lost ur card or somebody stole it and its frozen by the bank  ...just be creative to come up with something to give you cash. Usually works for smaller value item. You can try this at autozone, checker (there was once checker store where this trick always worked for me  ). give it a try and see which store works, may not work always but it does not hurt in trying. Pros : you will have no transaction fee, fast like an atm, purchase apr applied, no the cash advance fee. Cons : may not work for higher amounts, no 100% success rate.
2. Have a trusted friend  . Send money to him using paypal. He will have to pay 2-3% transaction fee, usually deducted from the amount you send. Ask him to transfer funds to his checking and get cash from him  . Worked great for me  when I was having hard time to make minimum payments. Applied for new card, used this technique to get cash and stay current on all other accounts while paying 0% APR on the new card (except the 2-3% transaction fee i paid to paypal). Pros : can transfer higher amounts, great if you are in 0% promotion period or purchase apr if u r not in promotion period, 100% success rate if ur friend is trustworthy. Cons : 2-3% transaction fee, will take 2-3 days for the cash to arrive in checking unless your friend has paypal debit card (again transaction fee).

if you select personal (friends and family) while using paypal there are no fees if the money is charged either from bank account or paypal account. So CreditCard> Transfer amount to paypal account> send money to friend> collect.

Few years ago, My friend paid my rent ,car payment and all other bills so that I could give him cash. If the amount you are trying to get is not big, this may work for you too.

This is what I did. I bought a laptop from Dell and when I received it, I returned it the next day(their 21 days policy). Later contacted them and told that the card I used to pay is closed.So, they sent me the cheque for the full amount. It took probably like 8 days for eveything. No fee No interest No nothing.. You can try if you want.

Thanks Guys for the replies. I found a better way by using Amazon Payment. It is lot like paypal process described by nepalikochoro but using amazon payment. It doesnt charge any transaction fees like paypal. I will give this a try. Once again thanks for your advices.

How far you are from Casino? Take all your credit card and get the chips do not play ( you may loose all), enjoy the casino have some drinks and cash them back. Go home with full of cash.

Thanks Bhojpure, This is the best part of sajha. You aks one question and you will have plethora of solutions to chose from. I will keep in mind this one. But right now I am no where near to casino, only farms, corn fields and ranches.Yeh it is Kansas.
