Hey guys, wassup? So I've been thinking to get a health insurance but I couldnt make a decision if it is needed. Considering the money it requires every month; I dont wanna buy it if its really not that necessary. I am a pretty healthy person. However, I just dont wanna take a chance if I get into serious medical situations like accidents or anything. So, I request you all to help me on this. Do I really need a health insurance? If yes, which one do you suggest and how much would it cost? What should I keep in mind before getting one like what it covers and stuff? Any kind of help will be appreciated.

As far as i know, health insurance is usually provided by the university itself for international students. So check on that! usually it's around $1000 per year for the insurance. (most don't cover dental and optics). I suggest you take the health insurance, because if you were to land in the hospital, you could go bankrupt. Even an ambulance ride alone is around $1000. Once, my friend had to go the hospital for "stone" surgery, she had to pay around $2k -3k out of pocket after the insurance covered the remaining fees.

thank you so much again relax singh...my college doesnt provide that...so i might have to take from a separate company..i've also heard about that ambulance thing....our teacher at freshman seminar had told us...he also said only if we had to get helicopter ambulance then we can only think of what trouble we are getting into...hahaha...hmm...im glad she had insurance....and also..most insurance wont cover the dentals....but one of my teeth i replaced in ktm...they said to come back and check after 5 yrs...which would be very soon...i so dont know what to do...i wont be going nepal soon...what to doooOOooo!!!!
