A new era in US has officially begun.
It didn’t start in 2001, neither did it began with inauguration of the first black president in the history of the 1st world order. It began after a jobless, frustrated young man burn himself thus inciting the Mideast upheaval. It began after thousands of protestors marched in the streets of Tahrir square and, more importantly, Tripoli.
President Obama’s reluctance to lead the troops to defeat a dictator has set a tone on the future US policy. The ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ motto carrying force is now not leading but “supporting”. His speech last night was a far cry from JFK’s inaugural speech of doing everything to defend liberty (paraphrasing), but it was indeed a reality that US has to accept.
This new era will focus on internal affairs more and try to smoothen the international relationships. Sure, it will still look at what benefits the nation, who cares about Yemen and Ivory Coast? The hippocriticism still exists, but has subdued now. This is a new era, a more attuned (with atonement?) and subdued US looks for the Sputnik moment….. once again.

This reminds me of a question I had. I haven't met one single Nepali who supports Republican agenda in US. Please holler back if you do, just for my record keeping (so I know there exists one :))

NAS bro
I respectfully disagree with every sentence you have put there. But to argue with republicans is like to argue with..well democrats, no point on trying to change their opinion, right?
So, you don't have a problem with somebody who sends troops there. But you think the worst person to ever roam in the earth is the person who doesn't pluck them out magically (w/o any thoughts of repurcussions mind you)? Sure slightly less than 50k US troops are still in Iraq, but is that by choice? Please think and then answer.
Disclosure: I am a registered Democrat.

Nas, you will fit right in FOX NEWS Channel. You should apply... Glen Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly need people like you to research on their propaganda and create false "news" so that they can fool their ignorant audience base.
