How long it takes to reopen a asylum case after a year??Has anyone gone through it?

what do you mean reopen? was it approved and closet, or referred to IJ? or did you withdraw the case?

actually i filed my asylum when i was in status, the case got denied and they returned me back to status.. Now i am out of status and wanna reopen the same case.I had met some lawyesr too but i wanna know actually how long it takes to reopen that case?? I am eager to hear from them who really have gone through same problem.

It will be withholding of deportation and you don't qualify for asylum no more. If you get approved for withholding of deportation, you will have to renew your EAD every year . But you won't be allowed to travel outside of USA. Doing such will be a voluntary departure and you will be barred from entering for 10 years.
