Future of Nepal Education and Cultural Center (NECC)

Those who are the members of Association of Nepalis in Americas (ANA) and Nepal Education and Cultural Center (NECC) are very tense these days regarding the future of both of the organizations. ANA after 29 years of tyrannical rule when faced democratic wave for the first time, tyrannical Past Presidents and their puppets started ruining the future of ANA by all their means rather than handing over the organization in a democratic way to the young generation. In this regards former King Gyanendra is far better than the Past Presidents of ANA. At least Gyanendra stepped aside to let the democratic people lead the country rather than acting himself for destruction of the nation like the Past Presidents are doing for ANA.

Many hidden facts are coming onto the surface to describe why those Past Presidents through their puppets want the positions in ANA at any cost. First, they don’t want to let other people know their heinous misconducts they had done in ANA for their personal benefits. The example of this is the recent letter of Attorney General of District of Columbia, who is asking clarification of all the deeds ANA has done since its revocation in 2002.  ANA has done millions of dollars of transaction after its revocation in 2002, which is illegal and has raised a big Red Flag in the eye of  Attorney General of District of Columbia.

Second and most important is the future of NECC. ANA started this project since its inception in 1983 and started collecting donation in every ANA Conventions.  Lots of ANA activities collected big amount of money for NECC as a result in 1996 ANA bought a 3.2 acres of land in Lenham, Maryland and built Pashupati and Buddha Mandir. When ANA was revoked in 2002, then started illegal activities within ANA. First the past Presidents separated NECC from ANA and tried to possess all those ANA properties under their names. ANA denied to transfer the organization property to some individuals in the name of NECC because NECC is the ANA project, so possession of NECC must be under the name of ANA. Then past Presidents and a few individual, altogether six individuals, bought a property of 9.4 acres of land in Beallsville, Maryland under their name but illegally presented in the community that the land was bought by NECC, which is a brainchild of ANA.  Nepal communities believed those individuals and donated hundreds of thousands of dollar for NECC. Those past Presidents forced ANA to transfer the ANA-NECC property at Lenham, Maryland to the new NECC owned by those six individuals, and on July 3^rd, 2011, the ANA property was transferred to privately owned NECC. Those past Presidents even registered another ANA in the state of Maryland in May, 2011 in order to grab all the ANA properties illegally.

Now, how these events reflect the future of ANA-NECC.

1.       How is NECC different from ANA? Is it like Maryland different from USA?
How is NECC a community organization (www.neccusa.org) when all its property is owned by six individuals?
How these six people accounted for the big amount of donation thousands of Nepalis donated for ANA-NECC? Isn’t going to be their private fund in the long run?
If the property is for NECC which is an organization, why are those people filing the property tax of NECC under their name? Why not in the name of NECC?
How legal is the transfer of ANA-NECC property to privately owned NECC?

In a few days, Attorney General of District of Columbia is going to start a full fledge investigation on these matter. Those people who are doing illegal activities in the name of a non-profit organization will be drowned in a serious legal whirlpool.
