Does anybody have any a decent idea about transfering/converting B.Sc. Nursing in Nepal into a RN Degree in the US? What does one need to do? I believe if a person holding 3 years of Bachelor's degree were to transfer his credits, he's more likely to study for at least 2 years before he receives a US Bachelor's Degree. How does it work for RN?

If you have a nursing degree from Nepal and want to work in, lets say, New York.
You have to first register with the NY board of nursing, go through CVS, and then wait for permission to take the NCLEX-RN exam.
Once you get the ok to take the NCLEX exam and you pass it, they will issue you the RN license and you can start working.

as far as i know, you have to take the licensure test NCLEX-RN frm any sate, people prefer NY state coz you dont have to take toefl first. if english is not a prob i'd say go with any sate.
you also need SS no to get the licence issued. or else you'd pass the license test but not have license.
and then once yuo are a RN of any state depending upon your status you can go to school. there are many scholl that that offers RN-BSN or even RN-MSN. its your call. but if you have GC and eligible to work (not just CG holder are eligible) i think you can still work and go to school.

Can anybody relate to this?
