 Need suggestion (Bringing Fiance to the US)

I want some good advice for bringing my girlfriend here in the US. I am an US Citizen and I cannot marry her right now. But I think i can get engaged to her and bring her as my fiance. I just want to know if anyone has done this before and want to know whats the process like. How long does it and what sort of evidence are required to prove her as my fiance? Just photographs from the engagement will work or we might have to gather some other information? Please share some of your experience which are similar to this !!
