I was driving my friend's car and I got an accident. It was my fault.I have full coverage on my car and my friend has full coverage on his car. I called my insurance and they fixed the other car that was involved in accident but they didn't fix my friend's car. my insurance is saying that my friend's insurance supposed to fix his car. My friend called his insurance and they said his insurance not gonna fix his car because I am not on his insurance policy. Now I am stuck between these two insurance companies. what are my options to fix this car. Could you please suggest me what should i do. should i talk to a lawyer or what? Anybody had similar situation like me? waiting for an expert advice.

Thanks

I had similar situation but my friend's insurance covered everything and I did not have to worry about that. It must be Geico, that my friend had insurance with. They just asked if he gave me permission to drive his car or not. Sorry but I don't have any suggestions. I hope you will find a way!

Auto Insurance covers for the car not the person, so as long as that car has insurance from whomever, they should be obliged to fix; nevertheless, the person on the policy(your friend) should take responsibility. That means, his premiums will go up.

Yep.its the car that is insured not the driver. Your insurance company is trying not to pay ....that's what they try to do always!may be a lawyer if they still refuse to pay....
