Hello everyone,
I need help for GRE prep. I am applying for MSN in fall 2012 and want to start GRE soon. I saw that kaplan and other company are expensive and so decided to do on my own. I heard The new GRE is different than old one. I am not too familiar with GRE also. But can anyone give me idea how should i start and which is the good book for GRE?

  • go and visit USEF regularly so that you will know about the latest GRE book. You can also get other loads of information from USEF. Its worth it.
  • Be communicative and make other friends in USEF (who are also in your similar situation).
  • Get a latest GRE book or make a copy of the book if someone has it.
  • Dont study 8-10 hours straight and rest for other 3-4 days. Invest at least 3 hours a day for GRE words and so on.
  • Think about at least 3 University while applying for MS degree. Dont just stick with one University i.e MSN. I assume MSN is the University name.  You can send your GRE score for free to 3 Universities. What if MSN does not accept your application?

to the best of my knowledge MSN don't require GRE score... I am hoping you are not aiming to apply Yale Univsersity ... otherwise most of the MSN school don't ask for GRE score. Correct me if i am wrong. thanks

Hello Times, I am not sure in the past. But now they require in most of the universities. Well Im in texas, University of Texas at arlington does not require if gpa>3.0 but it ask for 1 year experience and its expensive also. But,if I want to work as Research assistant, it requires GRE. If I work as RA, I will get tution deduction. Some other universities in texas also require GRE. I found that Barron's book is the best but I really want to hear the experiences in taking GRE. I have very few friends who gave GRE.

do u have any obligation to stay in Texas.... I know couple university like U of M (Minnesota).... UNMC (NEBRASKA) and many other university they don't require GRE and at the same time those medical school are top ranking medical schools. Try it and at the same time u can also take GRE to make your horizon wide.
