Hey guys! We've launched a new site called
mapanilekhak.com
mapanilekhak.com is a site where anyone can post any article(by which I mean essays, stories, poems, anyting) online for free. And, by article, I don't mean just the ones related to literature or all. Article here incorporates everything from economics, science, literature, business, computers to anything you can think of.
For example, something significant happened today and you wrote something about that and you wanna share that to the word. Then, from now onwards, your blog isn't the only choice. You can post all that to mapanilekhak.com as well. Our aim, of launching lekhak is to provide a platform to aspiring writers(who write literature) to publish themselves without bothering anything about blogging and all. And, even for those who post in blogs, we hope lekhak will give the articles a better coverage and so a better opportunity to the writers to share their works.
And, even for those who don't write literature, mapanilekhak is still there for you to share whatever you want to about. Whether it's the increased petrol price, the freaking Nepal bandas, the annoying friend you have or the packed micro-buses you rode home to today, you can share them all and then, the world will read that(and hopefully comment).
Perhaps, most of you people know about "Post-Platform" in Kathmandu Post. mapanilekhak is very similar but unlike in Post-Platform, we provide "Boundless Opportunities"(Sorry Mero Mobile/Ncell :P). There's no limit to how many articles you can publish here. And, another important thing about mapanilekhak is that we don't edit, change or do anything to your writings. So, you can write about anything. You can air your opinion about the government, political issues, anything. Well, we need to approve individual articles before they appear online but we simple check for decency and illegal content before approving.
And, there's another part to mapanilekhak. Feeling bad about the hundreds of writers whose manuscripts never get published, we've started an online publishing service. Through mapanilekhak's "books" sections, we publish books(pdfs) online so that writers can get feedback and all. In fact, they can claim that "Hey! My book's so popular on mapanilekhak.com. So, it's gonna sell certainly. So, you better publish it Mr. Publisher or you will lose the opportunity of making so much of money!" :P Just kidding but certainly that represents our dream! This online publishing costs certain bucks to the authors depending on the number of pages but the maximum is Rs.500, which I believe, is quite affordable.
Yeah! That's all about mapanilekhak. I wanted to inform people about this. And, most importantly, get feedback about this site. We hope people(and you guys) will like this concept and use it.
Please use the site. Tell it to your family, friends, enemies and everyone. And, please give comments here as well so that I can check upon myself and continuously improve on to make it better and better.
P.S.: We call the articles part of the site "Stories" and the books part "Books"!
