Gyanendra's India visit fuels speculation in Nepal
Kathmandu: An extended private visit of Nepal's ousted king Gyanendra has sparked speculation here, amid the political crisis that has stalled the peace process in the country.
Gyanendra is in New Delhi for over two weeks following a vist to Jaipur for a private function. Although his India visit was earlier scheduled for two weeks, his stay in India has been extended beyond one month, fueling speculation here. The visit of the former monarch to India comes amid the stalled 2006 peace process.
Gyanendra's personal aide Sagar Timilsina told Kantipur daily that the ex-monarch has extended his stay in Delhi for personal work, withour giving any details.
According to the daily, Gyanendra was seeking "political meetings" in Delhi.
Guna Raj Luitel of the Annapurna Post daily saw a link between the prolonged stay of Gyanendra in Delhi and the current political deadlock in Kathmandu.
The prolonged stay of Gyanendra in Delhi and the ongoing political deadlock in Nepal are not just coincidences, he said.
Pointing to the daily hardship facing the people due to lack of essential items, such as cooking gas, petroleum products and 12 hour daily power cuts, he said: "It has only worsened the situation in which people have begun to lose faith in the democratic system."
Against this is the failure of the government to conclude the peace process, he said.
The paralysis has fuelled public anger in what is one of the world's poorest nations -- all a far cry from the euphoria and optimism that followed the end of the civil war and the abolition of the unpopular monarchy.
This is the third visit to India by Gyanendra after the monarchy was abolished in Nepal in May 2008.

p_didi this is off-topic but could you please change your profile picture?
There are people with ugly faces in this world and i feel like we are making fun of them by using these ugly pictures as our profile pictures... or are you trying to scare us? It really doesn't matter whether you have ugly face or beautiful face, what really matters here in sajha is how you write.......one can easily portray your image after reading your post....

It really doesn't matter whether you like Geology or Geography or you like Tiger or Lion, what really matters here in sajha is how you write but you chose Geology Tiger and not Geography Lion. What is important is the freedom of choice. This is not North Korea where someone tells you to change your hair style because they have some personal issues with it.
Who knows I might look uglier than my profile picture but wanted to portray a picture one step up. I could tell you the same thing to change your picture because I think it looks ugly. Or I could say it looks too handsome and its making fun of handsome people.
Since you are bothered I will tell you why I used this picture. This image is in support of all the ugly people. Only beautiful and handsome people are shown importance in our materialistic world, someone has to support the ugly ones. Why do you hate the ugly ones so much? Ask yourself.
Sorry this is off topic but can you remove Tiger from your name because tigers are becoming extinct and you are making fun of them.

Kudos on your efforts p_didi if you are really into that....supporting ugly people
I wrote what i felt and It is not necessary that you have to agree with my feelings. Moreover, it was a kind request of mine not any command from Kim Jong il. You have all the freedom of choice.
And there is no relation with my nick and extinction of tigers. I belong to a school where everyone is called tiger and geology, it earns life for me. It doesn't matter whether my profile picture looks handsome or ugly because it is me in real. But again you have all the freedom of choice.
And happy valentine's day to you!
