Are you buying from dealer or person. ?
Ask them to provide VIN report if so else spend $35 bucks and decide yourself.

VIN is nothing important to me if you ask, it's all about salvage,change of ownership blah blah blah. I think it's the mileage and overall engine condition that counts.
Ask for test drive, take it to your local Autoshop and find out what is the condition.
