Nepal Banda is nowhere as bad as days with 16 hours of loadshedding, especially in Kathmandu where nightlife is nonexistent or extremely limited. I remember how I'd get home at 5 pm, and all I'd do was re-read those daily newspapers and books. There were days when I'd get up at 1 am to suit myself with loadshedding schedule but it got quite tedious as the daily loadshedding hours increased from 8 hrs a day on Day 1 to 16 on day 60. (I was in Nepal for 2 months).

My genuine suggestion would be to take a trip to ABC or elsewhere. If you're going to be in the City then it's not that bad either. You could just walk from one place to another. I walked a lot when I was in Kathmandu.
