This is a very valid question and it was raised in the dil fundraiser page
Thesedays there are a lot of fundraisers going on and you never know what happens to the fund. Even large non profit organizations do not have transparency of their financial activities in their website as I found when visiting some Non profit org websites recently.
For any kind of fundraiser, I feel that transparency is one of the most important thing because the donor needs to have the faith that his/her contribution is going towards the cause.
As you may or not know, sajha.com is run as a hobby in order to Bring Together Nepali Communities and it does not have a non profit status to be able to raise money on a full time basis. But, depending upon the seriousness of the cause, if many sajha users feel that something is worth doing then the effort is made officially.
In the past, sajha users have come together two times to support worthy causes and we have collectively raised significant amount of money to help out both times.
