I was happy with 12.10 Ubuntu, it's messed up when I tried to upgrade to 14.4 I was able to download latest version 14.4 . However it did not not us partition and it is blended with window's program file.

I am trying delete it : tried windows to reset earlier date and it was no help. Someone suggest find the root program stored ( no idea what that means and how to do) and delete it.

Right now I have Window 7 home and want to upgrade to window 7 professional. Any advise?

Any ADVISE ? Thank you.

Are you able to see the Ubuntu's files when you are logged-in to the Windows OS? You might try reinstalling Ubuntu again on a different partition and delete the files from there.

as thukka said, factory restore setting is the best way to go. Or just back up your all information and upgrade to whatever Windows OS you want to and your problem will be gone. Because, for your advantage, when you install window OS, window system will make sure that all other OS in that system is wiped out. Its Windows monopoly. Ubuntu will modify the grub to make the system dual boot only if you install ubuntu after window , but other way around will not work. So upgrade your window, it should wipe your existing ubuntu.

When I downloaded ubuntu 12.10 : it showed partion and file on contol panel. This time it did not let me choose for partion. This one over took my window 7 operating system, even on openig computer the choices is given by Ubuntu on purple screen.
I am afraid of going to original factory setting. There is SAS, SPSS and SAP progam which I do not want to loose. I am planning to upgrade window 7 professional.

As Panimuni said Windows has monopoly and will wipe wite ubuntu: I will try this.

Anyone else facing similar problem or it's me who did not install proper way and invited this porblem.
Thank you.
